Escriba CountDown Plugin
Plugin Widget que mostra um contador regressivo em seu sidebar com dia, hora, minuto e segundos até determinado evento.
Download: Escriba Countdown Widget (v0.1 - jun/2007)
Baseado no orginal de Fiz Vazquez , esse plugin foi melhorado e modificado com muitas novas ferramentas. Agora em forma de widget, você insere em sua sidebar e pode configurar direto no painel de controle opções como:
- Data e hora do contador
- Nome do evento
- Cor do contador

If my theme does not support widgets, how can I add the clock to my theme?
June 30th, 2007 | #
By now i only have this widget version. If you want to use this countdown as a traditional plugin, you should try the original plugin here: http://www.e-oss.net/wordpress/?p=114 (but has no options in admin panel and counter never stops)

I’m trying to configure widget, but do not know what to put in to “Day Unit” option ? What does this mean ?
July 10th, 2007 | #
The “Day Unit” lets you put the word “day” in your language, or use something interesting like “Moons” or “Suns”. For Exemple: 5 moons left and… (where “moons” is the choosen day unit)
Hope that this was helpful. See Ya!

I have the plug in working, but when I configure that date
to count down for my birthday, it does not display DAYS.
and on top of the countdown I have this weird name and words on top.
I want it to say:
My Birthday
70 Days: 22 hrs: 14 Min: 36 Sec:
NOT the way you see it now, on my site.
it had the name Faltam
and I want that out, I want the Text “My Birthday” There.
The clock only displays Hours - Minutes and Seconds,
But NOT days - WHY ??
Please help. thank you.

Also, I forgot to mention,
The count should be able to Auto delete itself after the day of the event.
(Example:)
My Birthday: Nov 19 1969 counts down. When it reaches My birthday, ALL DAY the 19th it should say:
ITS MY BIRTHDAY TODAY….
Then on the 20th Day of November, the counter deletes that particular countdown and removes itself from the blog.
and Also,
I would like to place as many countdowns as I like.
So if I have 7 Countdowns, I should be able to place
7 counters.
ALSO: I should be able to place either AM or PM time.
NOTE, : possible bug….
I placed this date and time for my birthday countdown,
2007-11-19 12:00:01
and when you look at the countdown, its off by 2 days.
so something is definitely wrong here.

Robert, let me aswer you step by step:
“I have the plug in working, but when I configure that date
to count down for my birthday, it does not display DAYS…”
Well, if you mean the day unit in your language, you can change it in the widget option in widgets page. If you mean the NUMBER of days, there is no problem (nobody has complaining about that. It´s working) and i can´t reproduce the problem here without more details.
“NOT the way you see it now, on my site.
it had the name Faltam
and I want that out, I want the Text “My Birthday” There…”
Well.. my mistake.. i forgot to put this option and soon i have time i will do it. But until that happens, you can change by yourself. “Faltam” means “Left” in portuguese. You can change it to whatever you want in you escriba-countdown.php file, in the line 139.
“The clock only displays Hours - Minutes and Seconds,
But NOT days - WHY ??”
Should be working. You are the first person complaining about that. As i said before, i need more details about your instalation to reproduce it. The days are there.
“possible bug….
I placed this date and time for my birthday countdown,
2007-11-19 12:00:01″
Note that the counter works with your server and WP time configuration. But i´ll take a look in that. Thanks in advance.
I will also see the possibilities of your other suggestions.
Hope that this was helpful. See Ya.

I am attempting to install your countdown widget to my site to countdown to my daughter’s wedding. My problem is I do not see an options selection under widgets. Where do I go to configure it.
Thank you

Hi Medonna, go to your widgets admin page, put the counter widget where you want it to appear, and then, in the right side of the widget button (still in widget admin page) you´ll see another little button, click in it and configure it.

Hi, the plugin is fantastic, but I can´t put a tittle on it… so the “tittle area” stays empty. Look:

How can I do it?
Cheers,

Hi!
I’m trying to use the plugin to place a countdown on my website, but after updating the countdown options, the only thing that displays is the Title of the event. I do not see the actual countdown.
I am running a linux system, but it appears just fine on the other sites that are using it.
Any ideas? Thanks!
